Inauguration of IETE Student Chapter (ISF)

The IETE (Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers) Student Forum (ISF) of Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology (ASET) was officially inaugurated on 4th November 2024. The event, which was held at the Visveswaraya Hall, marked an important milestone for the institution in fostering professional development among students. Dr. Aneesh K , ISF –IETE chapter faculty in charge coordinated the event.The function commenced at 3:00 PM with a formal gathering of students, faculty, and distinguished guests. Shri Pankaj Kumar Vasisht, the Chairman & Managing Director of Instrumentation Limited, was the chief guest of the event and inaugurated the IETE Student Chapter (ISF). Shri Vasisht, a seasoned leader in the field of instrumentation and electronics, addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance of active participation in professional societies. His speech motivated students to engage in technical activities, underscoring the role these platforms play in shaping their future careers. He also highlighted the need for disciplined, timely, and quality study practices as essential components for academic and professional success. Shri Vashist’s address was both inspiring and informative, setting the tone for the entire event.

Dr. P.R. Suresh, the Principal of ASET, presided over the function and delivered a key message on the significance of technical education and the role of professional organizations in enhancing students’ skills and knowledge. He encouraged the students to make the best use of the resources and opportunities provided by the IETE Student Forum, which would serve as a valuable platform for learning, innovation, and networking.

Dr. V. Balamurugan, the Head of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), extended a warm welcome to the gathering. He spoke about the importance of such forums in creating a bridge between theoretical knowledge and practical application. His welcoming note set a positive and encouraging atmosphere for the rest of the event.

Dr. Pradip C, the Chairman of the IETE Palakkad Center, was also present at the event and felicitated the gathering. He spoke about the role of IETE in nurturing the technical and professional growth of students, especially in the field of electronics and telecommunication. His words of encouragement reinforced the significance of the newly inaugurated student chapter and the role it will play in providing students with exposure to advanced technological developments.

The student body was represented by Pooja P Menon, a 6th-semester ECE student, who is the President of the ISF Chapter. Pooja delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the chief guest, dignitaries, faculty members, and students for their participation and support. She emphasized the importance of collaboration and active involvement of all members in making the ISF a successful platform for learning and professional growth.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from a diverse group of students, including those from the 3rd, 5th, and 7th semesters of the ECE department. Faculty members from the department were also present, lending their support to the inauguration. The presence of both senior and junior students highlighted the growing interest in the IETE Student Forum and its potential to benefit students at various stages of their academic journey.

The event successfully highlighted the objectives and potential of the IETE Student Forum at ASET.
