Industrial Visit to IRTC, Mundur, Palakkad

The Department of Civil Engineering, Ahalia School of Engineering & Technology (ASET) organized an Industrial Visit to the Integrated Rural Technology Centre (IRTC), Mundur, Palakkad, on 28 July 2026. The visit aimed to provide students with practical exposure to sustainable construction technologies, eco-friendly building practices, and innovative rural development initiatives.

During the visit, students explored various sustainable engineering solutions, including low-cost housing technologies, alternative building materials, rainwater harvesting systems, renewable energy applications, and waste management techniques. Experts at IRTC demonstrated how these technologies are effectively implemented to promote environmentally responsible and sustainable infrastructure development.

The students were accompanied by Dr. B. V. Mathew, Head of the Department, along with the Civil Engineering Department staff comprising Mr. Akhil Krishnan M. K., Mr. Anurudh R., Ms. Neethu John, and Mr. Prasanth A. Their guidance and support throughout the visit ensured an enriching and interactive learning experience for the students.

The industrial visit successfully bridged the gap between classroom learning and real-world engineering practices, enhancing students’ understanding of sustainable engineering solutions and inspiring them to adopt innovative approaches in their future professional careers.
