The Department of Civil Engineering, Ahalia School of Engineering & Technology (ASET), in association with Autodesk and CADCENTER (Indian Educational Enterprises Pvt. Ltd.), successfully organized a Masterclass on “BIM for Civil Engineers” on 24 July 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
The session was led by Mr. Vineesh Krishnan, Autodesk Educator, who provided valuable insights into the latest trends and applications of Building Information Modeling (BIM) in the civil engineering industry. The masterclass covered key topics including BIM in Civil Projects, Infrastructure Modeling, 4D/5D Simulation, and Field Coordination.
The interactive session enabled students to understand how BIM enhances project planning, visualization, collaboration, scheduling, and cost management in modern infrastructure projects. Participants gained practical knowledge of industry-relevant digital construction workflows and the growing importance of BIM in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) sector.
The programme concluded with an engaging question-and-answer session, where students interacted with the resource person and clarified their queries regarding BIM tools, career opportunities, and industry practices. The masterclass served as an excellent platform for enhancing students’ technical knowledge and bridging the gap between academic learning and industry expectations.
