Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology is joining hands with Elappully Panchayat in Panchayat development activities. A meeting of representatives of Elappully Panchayat and Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology was held at Elappully Panchayat Community Hall at 2:30 p.m. on 30 May 2022. Shri. Rameshan, Standing committee member welcomed the participants. Smt. Revathi Babu, Panchayat President presided over the meeting. Sunil Kumar, Vice President, Elappully Panchayat, felicitated both the parties for entering into this association. Dr. P. R. Sreemahadevan Pillai, Principal, Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology, Palakkad & Director, Ahalia Group Academic Institutions, India suggested to offer technology support for the proposed development activities in water conservation, agriculture, healthcare, education etc. Panchayat can use the technical excellence of the faculty and students of Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology. Dr Sudhodanan, State Secretary, OISCA, proposed to organise eye camps in schools. Shri. Joseph, Water Aid India, said a survey of open wells, borewells, ponds etc. should be done to identify the water availability in the Panchayat. The database currently available is many years old, hence not reliable.
Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology will support in starting a Facebook page for Elappully Panchayat and also maintain it. Prof. Abhijit Menon is entrusted with the development of a website and FB page for better information dissemination in the Panchayat. The new rooms being constructed in GLPS, Pallatheri hasn’t received sanctions for electrical wiring and plumbing work. Dr. Murugananth, HoD EEE will inspect and help for electrical wiring and Dept. of Mechanical Engineering will help for the plumbing work. This will be a hands on experience for students too. On 15 June ASET will support the Agriculture department in organising a training program on Paddy farming for the farmers in the Panchayat. The venue can be Ahalia Campus or Elappully Panchayat community hall. Ms. Bindu Valoor will liaise with the Panchayat officials to organise this training. Prof. Preeja, Prof. Prabha and Prof. Vignesh will prepare the survey form for comprehensive data collection in the Panchayat.
