In association with the Department of Women and Child Development (DWCD) and Jana Maithri Police, Palakkad, Ahalia Group Academic Institutions organized a self defence workshop and gender equality awareness session. Smt. Laiju V. S., Women Protection Officer, DWCD, inaugurated the session and offered an awareness session. Dr. Jagadesh S. N. Principal, Ahalia School of Commerce and Mathematics presided over the program. Dr. Samuel Thavamani, Professor and Head, Dept. of Pharmacognosy, Ahalia School of Pharmacy, Smt. Bindu Valoor, Manager Academics Outreach, Prof. Roshan Sanu, NSS Programme Officer, Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology offered the felicitation address. Shri. Shifas R Dheen, LCPO, DCPU, Palakkad welcomed the audience and Shri. Leo Bernard, District Mission Coordinator, DWCD expressed gratitude.
Jana Maithri Police conducted a workshop on Self Defence for the female students. Male students of ASET and ASCM participated in a debate competition on Benevolent Sexism. The selected students will participate in the district level debate competition representing Ahalia Group Academic Institutions. Nandana R. and Irene, S1 students of Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology sang a vibrant song on women empowerment. Students of Ahalia School of Pharmacy performed an awesome flashmob about women’s social plight.
