UHV Program for 2023-27 Batch

The Student Induction Program on Universal Human Values 2023 was conducted by Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology from 07/09/2023 to 15/09/2023. The programme was inaugurated on 07/09/2023 at 9.15 a.m. by Dr. Chittur Subbaraman, Partner Software Architect, Microsoft, In his inaugural address , he said there is no need to worry about jobs disappearing because the advancements in technology are creating new jobs. To get ready to embrace that change, he urged the students to always keep learning new skills, be disciplined, be ready to take challenges and not worried of failure. Ultimately the quest for excellence in everything they do will fetch positive results. He wished the budding engineers all success.Dr. P. R. Sreemahadevan Pillai, Principal, Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology, presided over the event, Dr. Murugananth, HoD EEE offered the welcome address and Dr. Binoy Balan, HoD, S & H proposed the vote of thanks. In the orientation session, Prof. Prakash D., HoD ME briefed about the University regulations and academic essentials. Bindu Valoor, Manager Academics Outreach, coordinated the event.

Day-1 on September 8, 2023, students will participate in an orientation program commemorating Universal Human Values Day-1. On Friday, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. (KTU Online) Inauguration by the Honorable Chief Minister Sri Pinarayi Vijayan.The hours of 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m by the topic of “Regulations of the KTU”, by Professor Prakash D ,ASET, ME, and Head of Department. Between 1:00 to 2:00 as Lunch Break for the students and afternoon session starts at 2.00 Pm onwards.Third session is between 2.00 p.m to 3.15 p.m handled by Dr. Murugananth G, HoD, EEE, ASET by the title “Survival on Earth” followed with the topic of “Soft Skill essentials for Engineers,” to be discussed from 3.30 to 4.20 p.m. by Placement Officer Mr. Abhijit V , A.P.,ECE. Day-1 was monitor by Mr.Basil Baby, AP, S&H, Ms. Soumya AP, CSE and chief guests’ introduction by Ms.Preeja, AP, S&H.

Day 2- Monday, September 11, 2023

First session, “Human Values and Human Relationships,” between 9:00 and 10:30 a.m. was handled by Dr. Balamurugan V, Head of Department of ECE, ASET. From 11.00 a.m. until 12.45 p.m. Comprehensive Instructions for Graduate Students as an Introductory Session Roadmap by Mr. Anup Nair, Managing Director, Martin Engineering Corporation by KTU online.
From 1 to 2 p.m. was lunch break , followed by Introducing Professional Body-IEEE by Mr. Shone Jose, IEEE Malabar Hub upto 3.15 pm. The last session between 3.30 to 4.20 pm was handled by Librarian Mr. Lal from ASET about the significant value of books and usage of library for professional life. Sports, Cultural, and NSS activities are introduced by Mr. Bibin B, PD, S& HDay-2 was monitor by Mr.Thannasi, AP, S&H, Ms. Soumya AP, CSE and chief guests’ introduction by Ms.Preeja, AP, S&H

Day 3- Tuesday, September 12, 2023

The first session was title as “Self-Motivation,” presented by Professor Kripa K. M. HoD, CE, ASET between 9.00 am to 10.30 am. The second session was presented by KTU online by “Mental Health” (KTU) and led by Dr. Varghese Punnoose, Professor and Head of the Department of Psychiatry at the Government Medical College in Kottayam. After Lunch break , the 3rd session between 2.00 PM to 3.15 PM by the topic of “Insight about Inside,” presented by Dr. S. Gunasekaran, Head of Department of Computer Science and Engineering at ASET; last session between 3:30–4:20 p.m. was handled by Mr. Dhaneesh, A.P., ME, ASET in the title of “Being Happy.” Day-3 was monitor by Ms.Preeja V, AP, S&H, Mr.Sathyan P and Ms.Sindhu V. Day 4- Wednesday, September 13, 2023

First session between 9:00 and 10:30 a.m. will be devoted to a presentation titled “Role of Engineers,” which was given by Dr. P. R. Sreemahadevan Pillai, Principal of ASET. The subsequent session takes place between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Inauguration of the “Anti-narcotics” (KTU) Program: by Honorable Minister for Local Self-Governments, Rural Development, and Excise, Sri M. B. Rajesh and keynote address by Dr. Jayaprakashan K.P., Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the Government Medical College in Thiruvananthapuram Following a break for lunch, the third session will be held from 2:00 to 3:15 and will be titled “Self-Confidence.” The speaker for this session was Dr. Krishnakumar Kishor, Vice Principal of ASET and Executive Director of Ahalia Group. Day 5- Thursday, September 14, 2023

First session was between 9 and 10.30 in the morning, with Ms. Bindu Valoor, Manager of Academic Outreach for Ahalia Group, presenting on the topic of “Self-Reflection and Mutual Respect.” 11.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. topic as “Industrial scenario in Kerala” by Inauguration -Sri P. Rajeev, Honourable Minister for Law, Industries, and Coir, Kerala, India, key note address by Sri T K Jose, IAS, Former Additional Chief Secretary, Government of Kerala “Road Safety” (KTU), Sri S. Sreejith IPS ADGP, and the Road Safety Commissioner was between the hours of 2:00 and 3:15. The final session, which took place between 3:30 and 4:20 p.m. and was titled “Team Management,” was led by Dr. S. GUNASEKARAN, the convenor of the UHV program. Day 6- Friday, September 15, 2023

The first session titled as “Value Engineering” presented by Dr. R. Sivakumar professor and Dean of CSE from ASET between 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Next session between 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m from KTU online transmission as Roadmap for a Graduate Student (KTU) by Dr. K P Sudheer, Ex Officio Principal Secretary S&T Department & Executive Vice President KSCSTE.
The Honorable Minister for Higher Education and Social Justice, Dr. R Bindu, presided over the Valedictory Ceremony at KTU from 2:00 to 3:15 pm. and the last session was celebrated as Engineers day with the title of “ENGINEERING FOR SUSTAINABLE FUTURE” presided by Dr. P. R. Sreemahadevan Pillai, Principal of ASET and chief guest address by Er.Ajith. D, Managing Director Habitat , Palakkad. Day-6 was in charged and MoC by Ms. Preeja V, AP, S&H and Ms. Rejitha , Lab Technician from S&H ASET. Technical assistance by Mr. Vaishnav from CSE
